No tickets for tourists’ parked cars in Milan?
Thursday 3 August 2006 by Edward.
Milan is one of Europe’s most car-choked cities, reports Wired News. Parking is a real problem, especially when street cleaning takes place. 16,000 cars play musical chairs every week to avoid parking tickets.
Fifteen new street sweepers will test new technology over 80km of city streets during the trial, saving the relocation of over 300,000 cars. Sweepers will clean under parked cars.
What a load off the tourists’ shoulders that will be!
Roger A. Brooks Rule 8 “The Parking Limits Rule” tells us that ‘Parking is not just for lovers.’ Parking tickets stink. They sour the tourist experience, even after a great time at a destination. Anything that minimizes parking problems for tourists will end up bringing in more money to the area.
